This child psychology course defines ‘developmental language disorder’ (DLD) and explains how it affects early childhood development and education. We discuss the importance of language to the communication process and examine some of the components and stages of language development. We then discuss factors that influence language development in children and provide effective treatment options you can use to help those affected by DLD.
