This psychology course discusses the critical theories that establish the importance of play for young children. We examine the development of cognitive theory as well as modern theories surrounding play. We then study the impact of play on each stage of early childhood development. We also explore the factors that influence play behaviour in the preschool years and trace the impact of digital games on childhood psychology and social development.
