Safety at sea is paramount. This course introduces you to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) conventions and codes and teaches the IMO’s structure, roles and function. Investigate the process for developing international conventions, flag state requirements and the roles of the flag state. Compare the differences between a flag state and a port state, some committees of IMO and the functions of IMO sub-committees.
